I have now had the pleasure of photographing stylist Jessica de Ruiter’s home twice. In an otherwise hectic world, Jessica’s house speaks of calm and mindfulness. Every detail is full of thought, from the architecture that stays true to its roots to the beautiful Heath ceramics she has in her kitchen. Her daughter James’s room is full of whimsy, beautiful textures and colors, not to mention Jessica’s impeccable personal style.
A little sneak peek of one of my favorite projects! My dear friend, Brazilian chef Anna Elisa De Castro, who styled the first three cookbooks I photographed when I lived in NY, asked me to photograph her new cookbook. IN BRAZIL!! A project I could not turn down! Anna is an amazing chef and one of those people who everyone is instantly drawn to, the life of the party and one of the hardest workers I know. Our collaboration on this book was magic and I can’t wait for the book’s release in April of this year!
Getting ready for our first day of shooting! Breakfast of champions.
Props and more props! I brought 8 boxes of props with me on the trip. Transporting props on the plane was no small feat, but it was SO worth it!
We had a visitor. This little green guy blended in perfectly!
Anna and her business partner discuss the day.
